THE WHISKEY REBELLION

This section of the Fort Era Exhibit will cover the Whiskey Rebellion.  The exhibit will emphasize George Washington’s time in Bedford.  As a young officer Washington frequently visited Fort Bedford. Decades later, as President of the United States, he halted violent protests against the Whiskey Tax.
